Siboney's Orchard Software Wins Top National Award
ST. LOUIS, MO, June 18, 2007 -- Siboney Corporation (OTCBB: SBON) announced that its wholly owned
subsidiary, Siboney Learning Group, is the winner of the Association
of Educational Publishers' 2007 Golden Lamp Award for Technology for
its Orchard Gold Star software. The Golden Lamp Award is widely
considered the most prestigious honor in the field of educational
publishing.
Bill Edwards, president of Siboney Learning Group, accepted the
award at the AEP Awards Banquet on June 12 in Washington, D.C.
"Orchard was selected from an extensive field of highly regarded
publishers of educational software. The distinction confirms our
position as a leading provider of comprehensive classroom curriculum
software solutions. Our entire team is to be congratulated."
Orchard supplements classroom instruction with computer based
lessons designed to help students master math, reading, writing,
language arts and science skills. Targeted and motivating instruction,
along with significant data reporting features, has made Orchard the
choice of educators in more than 8,000 schools serving over 4 million
students across the United States.
About the Association of Educational Publishers and the Golden
Lamp Awards
Founded in 1895, the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP)
is a non-profit organization devoted to serving and advancing the
supplemental educational publishing industry through research and
information, market opportunities, government relations, professional
development and networking events.
AEP's Golden Lamp Awards are in their 40th year. Each year the
Golden Lamp Award is presented to just four recipients--those judged
to be the "best of the best" in the categories of Periodicals, Books,
Technology, and Instructional Materials. According to AEP officials,
"publishing professionals, educators, and librarians recognize winners
as providing the most outstanding materials for learning." For more
information, visit AEP online at www.aepweb.org.
